Presents: ‘Hell in the city of Angels’ by Chris Stein
Los Angeles, CA August 12, 2013- Morrison Hotel Gallery is showcasing a special photography exhibit by Chris Stein with Debra Harry: ‘Hell in the City of Angels’, that features over 2 dozen photographs of the 1970’s new wave and punk music scenes.
In attendance were Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, Shephard Fairey, Dennis Morris, Clem Burke, Rodney Bingenheimer, Stephen Smith, Jim Steinfeldt, Skye Valencia, Kathy Valentine, Christy Oldham, Robert Johnson, Clinton H. Wallace, Ariane Bellamar and Morrison Hotel Gallery owners Richard Horowitz and Henry Diltz.
ABOUT CHRIS STEIN
Chris started taking photographs in 1968. During his last years at the School Of Visual Arts in NYC he began hanging around the early downtown rock scene. In 1973 he met and began working with Debbie Harry and together they founded the band Blondie. Chris was always taking pictures of the milieu that surrounded Blondie and was lucky to be on the inside and able to mingle with many pioneers of the new wave and punk music scenes. His photos of Debbie have helped establish her as an international icon.
