January 28, 2015, West Hollywood – Feminists throughout history have one thing in common-they continue to speak truth in spite of its, um…inconvenience.  Julie Anderson and Marla J. Carton are no exceptions.  These brilliant ladies are the founders of Feminine Collective, a nonprofit corporation that showcases the personal and often raw and unfiltered stories of real women in an effort to ultimately empower females and raise awareness on issues that plague women.

“I was always on the lookout for a meaningfulway to understand my sense of self and my relationship with others and exchanging personal stories rejuvenated me. I decided to create a community for women, a place where they could share their stories…” said founder Julie Anderson.

Feminine Collective, Raw and Unfiltered Vol. 1, has now been launched as a collection of nonfiction essays and poems about the interpersonal relationships of women. Supermodel Rachel Hunter contributed a poignant forward to the book which represents diverse voices, most of whom were unpublished before Feminine Collective, and who share their candid stories regarding the complex female condition, especially the expedition through arduous relationships with themselves and others.

“When Julie approached me with her idea to create a space for women”, said co-founder Marla Carlton, “Feminine Collective immediately touched a nerve, because I knew with a little emotional support and acceptance, women can accomplish great things”.
