December 5th, 2016- Arcadia, California
The Santa Anita Racetrack is known for its thoroughbred horses, its prominent racing events like the Santa Anita Derby, and for hosting numerous prestigious Breeders’ Cup events over the years. However, the famous tracks infield was host this year to a horse of a different color- the world’s first and largest Electronic Cigarette Convention (ECC) and Vaping Expo.
Millions of people have quit smoking cigarettes by transitioning to vapor products, and ECC is the annual event that celebrates this life-changing decision. Co-founded by former cigarette smoker Steve Mac, the ECC gathered the top brands in the e-cig world and connected them with vapers and vapor business owners during this smokin three-day phenomenal event that took place December 2-4, 2016. Record numbers of vape crowd supporters filled the art-deco entrance to the legendary racetrack’s infield in support of #lesstalkingmorevaping

Hundreds of vape business vendors were in attendance, including (to name a few) eminent brands like The Mamasan, Amazin E-Juice, Dinner Lady, Daily Dose, Blue Label Elixir, Propaganda Premium E-Liquid, Pancake Man, Cosmic Fog, Supremacy Vapors, Cuttwood, Five Star Juice, SX Mini, Dr. Vape, Self Made Vapors, Atlas Vapor, Vape Street, Through The Fog Vapors, Kangertech, Vape Genie, Elixa Health Associates, Vapetasia, Savage E-Liquid and Cloud Vapory along with celebrity vape models Pandora Blue, Monika Cozlin, Farrah Burbidge and Shy Kane.

The Vape Industry has been under fire from the FDA in recent months with taxes and unfair regulations and smear campaigns aimed at shutting down an industry that has a proven track record of saving lives. Despite the set-backs, vape business owners are complying with regulations, advocacy groups have unified and former tobacco users turned vapers are diligently writing their congress people.

To further prove that vaping saves lives, a new film documentary called A Billion Lives, directed by Aaron Biebert, was released the summer of 2016, documenting the revolution of the vaping industry and the tragic government corruption which has lead to the deaths of a billion people who have fallen victim to tobacco smoking.

In addition, a new fictional web series called Vape Warz, written, produced and directed by award winning filmmaker Christy Oldham, will soon be released on YouTube which follows a DIY e-juice mixologist on a mission to deliver a top-secret e-liquid elixir to a classified location while being hunted by governmental goons.
The fight for the right to vape is an on-going pressing matter. In May of 2016, the state of California declared e-cigs as a tobacco product and raised the user age to 21. As a predecessor of things to come, California Proposition 56 was then placed on the November 8th ballot as a combined initiated constitutional amendment and state statute for a deceitful tobacco tax increase initiative. It was approved.
If 2016 was a crossroads of how the vape industry was challenged, then 2017 will be the year that the vape industry will surmount to prominence in an ever changing mercurial landscape..one vaper at a time. #lesstalkingmorevaping
