Hollywood, Sep. 25 (DGC) – Claire Danes award-winning actress and Star Of Showtime’s Critically acclaimed series was honored today with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Leron Gubler announced that today was officially Claire Danes Day in Hollywood as the actress was set to received the 2,559th star on the Iconic Boulevard.

Guest Speakers at the event were Alex Gansa, Co-creator and Executive Producer of “Homeland” as well as Bess Armstrong and Winnie Holzman, Creator and Executive Producer of “My So Called Life”. Claire’s parents Carla Danes and Christopher Danes were on hand to help unveil her star.




Danes Showbiz career began at six years old in New York City where her artistic parents enrolled her for Dance classes at Dance Theater Worshop. A few years later she was enrolled for acting classes at the Legendary Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Danes was casted for “My So Called Life,” where the talented actress caught the attention of critics and audiences after earning an Emmy nomination and eventually winning a Golden Globe Award for her lead role as Angela Chase.

Danes is currently starring on Showtime’s critically-acclaimed series Homeland where she plays CIA Officer Carrie Matheson, Danes is a four-time Emmy nominee for Homeland, she has won back to back Emmys and Golden Globe Awards for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama,” and a 2013 SAG Award for “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.”


Homeland’s fifth season will premiere on Sunday, October 5th at 9 P.M. PDT on Showtime. Danes Film Credits include Richard Linklater’s “Me & Orson Welles with Zac Efron, she also appeared opposite Steve Martin & Jason Schwartzman in “Shopgirl’ as well as opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrman’s Romeo & Juliet.
