Mission Possible: Katie Lohmann Takes on Hollywood
Katie Lohmann, actress and cover girl, notably known as Playboy Magazines playmate of the month in April 2001, is on a mission to become one of the biggest movie stars in the world, just like Academy Award nominee Tom Cruise, whom she holds a high level of respect and admiration, not only for his three decades of world wide success as a Hollywood icon but also for his many philanthropic contributions, as well as being a staunch outspoken advocate for the Church of Scientology. “He sticks to his guns no matter what criticism he faces. He believes in himself and his religion and I admire him for that”, Katie says.

It all began in Scottsdale, Arizona where Lohmann, a naturally gifted athlete, participated in a variety of sporting activities which included soccer, volleyball and track & field. At the tender age of 19, Katie was on vacation in California and on a whim, her and a friend marched into Playboy Enterprises with high ambitions. “I just walked up to the front desk and said ‘I want to be a centerfold’”, Lohmann revealed. Who could possibly say no to this dazzling beauty with hypnotizing eyes which even the mighty Odysseus would find it difficult to resist. When it comes to achieving stardom, Lohmann knows exactly how to get what she wants.
Lohmann used her sexy centerfold branding to spring board her into multiple acting roles in film and television including a guest starring role on the TV show Rude Awakening with rock star Roger Daltrey from the rock band The Who. Next was a stint on the mostly improvised TV show Reno 911. She did such a good job, that she was brought back for multiple episodes. Her favorite Reno 911 episode captured her riding motorcycles and performing her own stunts. The bravado of this beauty claims “I’m not afraid to do my own stunts and don’t like using body doubles”. To avoid the conventional stereotypes placed on some actors, Lohmann also works with independent filmmakers, including JP Morgan (no relation to the 19th century American financier) where she plays Super Girl in educational yet comedic ‘How To’ videos that are popular on You tube. Recently, Holly Madison mentioned Katie in her tell-all book about living in the Playboy mansion. “Hef gave her a huge opportunity and with out that, she wouldn’t be where she is”, Katie says “so I believe that Holly should never have written a tell-all book. Mystery is better than details and certain things are better left unsaid”.

It takes brilliance and agility to navigate the capricious world of the entertainment business, however, Katie’s assets are her strength, loyalty and courage and she has shown resilience in both her personal and professional life.

In fact, Katie has a new appreciation for life. She admitted that she went through depression in 2005 after the passing of her father. Then, a few years later in 2009, her older brother suffered a stroke from alcohol abuse. Her courage was once again tested in 2011 when her Mom called her at her home in Woodland Hills, California to inform her that her older sister had tragically passed away from a heroin overdose. “My sister shot heroin from age 14 to her overdose at 38. She left 5 kids, 5 boys, whom I intend to make Scientology part of their lives”, she says. “Ya know, I can only be strong for so long from getting hammered in life, of which none of these were my choices mind you, but still feeling the stressful impact nonetheless”. Katie, now 35 and single, makes it her priority to live a healthy lifestyle by not drinking or smoking and even declares “I’m high on life because of Scientology”.

Through Scientology, Lohmann affirms that she has had a rebirth and has completed a course called ‘Survival Rundown’ that teaches registrants on living in the moment and resolving issues that intercept self awareness.
She loves miniature golf and racing go carts and spending time with her adorable dog Bella, a pom pom. She is adamant about spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs, including prescription drugs, and even birth control pills. “Doctors are rewarded with cars, trips and money to prescribe people with drugs they don’t need. There is no such thing as a pill that fixes all. That’s bullshit. No such thing. And a pill to trick the female body to believe its pregnant? Who thinks of this? Tricking the body can not be good”. Lohmann says that when two of her sisters’ kids were placed in foster care that they became violent after being given the prescription drugs Adderall and Ritalin. “These prescription drugs are just as dangerous as street drugs”, she says.

Could Hollywood benefit from a new outspoken female-esk Tom Cruise who spearheads her new found luster for life from teachings from The Church of Scientology? Lohmann represents a positive and refreshing attitude after all that reflects the intense characteristics that the iconic actor also possesses. “Tom Cruise is intense because his baggage from the past is not weighing him down. He would never fall into the drug pit like some other high profile actors have”, Katie says. “I admire Tom Cruise because he is fearless. He laughs because he doesn’t have the mental blocks; he’s giving everything he’s got, uplifting their spirits, talks through obstacles with actresses while on set, and can hang off the side of a building because Scientology teaches you to be courageous, to face your issues head on”.

Katie Lohmann has experienced success and tragedy but is now ready to get back into auditioning in the fall of 2015. “I’m very focused on my work with Scientology and will begin auditioning again once I’ve finished my self reflection. I’m on a mission and don’t allow any room for laziness. I won’t tolerate it”.
