The 13th Annual Valentine’s Health Seminar, presented by the Sheila Kar Health Foundation, with panelists Michael Gottlieb, MD (physician who first identified AIDS as a new disease in 1981), Peter Ruane, MD (founder of Ruane Medical & Liver Health Institute), Rekha Murthy, MD (V.P. of Medical Affairs at CSMC) and Sheila Kar, MD (Cardiologist & past Clinical Chief at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute) was recently held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

The distinguished panel of doctors discussed the devastating  “big” viral effects  that “microscopic” viruses have and how everyone therefore is susceptible to health issues.  These International experts stressed that with the knowledge and tools that we possess today however, infections can and should be prevented.

The informative seminar was followed by A Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Evening reception which included an elegant dinner, live auction and concert with Grammy Award-winning recording artist Omar AkramJoey Piscopo was the Master of Ceremonies.

Guests were on their feet giving a standing ovation to Humanitarian Award recipients David Albert, MD (physician, serial entrepreneur and inventor) and Dr. Lubna Dawany (Attorney & Human Rights Activist).
