Hollywood, February. 10 (DGC) – Award-Mexican Rock Band Mana’ was honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Leron Gubler declared that today February 10th was officially Mana’ day in Hollywood as the Rock Band was set to receive the 2,573rd star on the Iconic Boulevard in the category of recording.

Mana’ has been around for three decades, they are one of Latin Americas most popular rock bands and have now made history as the first rock band from Mexico to have the honor of having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The iconic rock band was formed in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1986; the band consists of Fher Olvera, Alex González, Sergio Vallín and Juan Calleros. Mana’ has sold over 40 million albums and worldwide they have released 35 no. 1 hit songs. Mana’ has won four Grammy and eight Latin Grammy Awards.

Guest speakers at the star unveiling ceremony were America Ferrera and the legendary Carlos Santa. America Ferrra thanked the band for their vocality in speaking out on various issues in the Latino community, on her Instagram she posted “A pleasure to celebrate @manaoficial getting their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. They are true artists who dare to engage with the issues of the times” #brothersinthefight #socialjustice @votolatino.

Mana’ founded the Selva Negra Foundation which is one of Latin America’s leading voices for environmental protection. Mana’ and the Selva Negra Foundation is working with the Mexican government to raise 140,000 turtle eggs for release on the country’s Pacific coast to re-establish the endangered species.
